Ai Higaki

I draw my influence from nature, where I feel happiest; bird-watching, gathering mushrooms or walking around the woods.

I like using soft colour palettes with delicate line work. I tend to use ink and watercolour for gentle, organic illustrations and digital tools for cleaner, more vivid images.

I also like images with a traditional feel – I really admire classic, pre-war British illustrators – and I would like to bring a Japanese aesthetic to such a style.

I currently live in a small village in Western Spain under a stork’s nest.
