Mark Draisey

I graduated with a degree in illustration from Brighton Polytechnic in 1986 and began working as a caricaturist on Central TV’s Spitting Image designing and modelling the puppets. At the same time I was working freelance producing illustrations, cartoons and caricatures for book & magazine publishers, advertising and design agencies, and TV. Past clients include BBC, Tatler, Punch, The Week, and Country Life. Moving to Oxford put me in touch with Oxford University Press and I began working regularly on various educational books for a mixture of age groups, abilities and international markets. This lead to further work from Macmillan, Cambridge University Press, Scholastic and others.
More recently, I have taken up portrait painting in oils, and one of my first paintings was selected by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2017 exhibition in London. I am, however, still working as an illustrator between commissions.
